OUR VALUES

With everything we do we are governed by Jesus and his example to us which is summed up in

Mark 12:30,31 to love God and love others.

LOVE GOD

We Know…

  1. Who God is

    1. God is good (Psalm 34:8, 107:1, 1 John 1:5, James 1:17, Psalm 100:5)

    2. God is our loving Father (1 John 1:3)

    3. God’s nature is perfectly represented in Jesus (Hebrews 1:3)

    4. God’s presence is with us, to minister to us and work through us (Exodus 33:14, 1 John 4:12, Psalm 23:4)

    5. God is always speaking (Job 33:14, Jeremiah 33:3, John 10:27)

    6. The bible is the word of God, as we read and study it, it empowers us to learn who God is, who we are in Him and how He wants us to live our lives (2 Timothy 3:16)

    7. Jesus is central in all that we do and through Him we have a relationship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. We eagerly desire the fruit (Galatians 5:22) and the gifts of the Holy Spirit (Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12:8-10, 28, Ephesians 4:11) and we partner with God to see His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew 25:14-30)

  2. Who we are

    1. We are God’s children and He delights in us (Zephaniah 3:17, Psalm 147:11, Psalm 149:4)

    2. We are loved as we are, we don’t work for love (Ephesians 2:8-9, Galatians 2:21, Romans 9:16), we work from love (Romans 12:9-12)

    3. We are free and responsible to make good choices (Psalm 118:5, 1 Cor. 6:12, Galatians 5:13-14 2 Cor. 3:17, John 8:36)

    4. We seek to help others see themselves as God sees them (Romans 12:18, 1 Thessalonians 5:11)

    5. God’s grace forgives our sin and empowers us not to sin (Philippians 4:13)

    6. We listen to God and obey, we are doers of His word (John 10:27, Luke 11:28, Matthew 7:24)

  3. How we are called to operate in relationship with him? (God’s still speaking, supernatural ministry, vulnerability, communication, intimacy, kingdom advancing now)

    1. God is still speaking and he wants to communicate with His family. It is important for us to actively listen for His voice and experience the variety of ways He communicates. (Through his word: Hebrews 4:12, Through Visions and Dreams: Numbers: 12:6, By his voice: Job 33:16, John 10:27)

    2. We encounter His presence through worship and prayer (Psalm 22:3, Psalm 16:11, Matthew 18:20, Jeremiah 29:12)

    3. We partner with God to see His supernatural kingdom (John 14:12)

    4. The Holy Spirit empowers us to preach the gospel, heal the sick, cast out demons and perform signs and wonders to bring glory to God (Matthew 10:8)

    5. We believe and live the prayer, “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Therefore, we partner with the King in natural and supernatural ways to establish mercy, justice, and righteousness until He comes. (Matthew 6:10)

    6.

LOVE OTHERS

We…

  1. Love (Family)

    1. Love remains the cornerstone of every relationship and activity (Romans 12:9-21)

    2. We are adopted into God’s family so we intentionally create family and community wherever we go

    3.

  2. Give (generous-time/money/resources)

    1. God is extravagantly generous and our generosity is a response and reflection of Him. (Matthew 5:16, 42)

    2. We give joyfully and generously of our time, finances, and personal resources to advance the kingdom of God. (Acts 20:35, Proverbs 3:27, Luke 12:33-34, John 15:13)

  1. Honor

    1. Honour recognises how valuable other people are because they are made in God's image. (Genesis 1:27)  Honor recognizes and celebrates the best in people in spite of our differences. We respond to people based on their God-given identity and the honor in our hearts and not based on the other person's behavior or what they think of themselves. Honor is shown through respect in the way we speak and respond toward the people we lead, follow, love and those we disagree with. (Romans 12)

  1. Serve (Community)

    1. We are a family who value each other and our community. Each of us have been given God-given abilities and we use those abilities to love and serve the community around us. (1 Corinthians 12:1-11, Exodus 31:3-5)

    2. We serve out of out love for Christ and as worship back to him (Matthew 25:35-40)

  2. Dream

    1. We believe that the City of Rockingham is God’s city and that through our partnership with him, we will see our city saved for Jesus and our city will be a light to the nation. (Jeremiah 29:7)

    2. We believe that nothing is impossible with God and that with God’s help we can see everyone and every situation redeemed and blessed. (Matthew 19:29, Ephesians 3:20)

    3. We believe that God has plans for each of us that brings him glory. (Ephesians 1:11, 2:10, Jeremiah 29:11)

    4. We believe that God, as a loving father, chooses to bless the dreams of his kids when they align with his purpose (Psalm 37:4)

    5. We believe that everyone has a God dream within them, both young and old, rich and poor, and we exist to empower them to live that dream. (Jeremiah 29:11, Acts 2:17, Joel 2:28)

    6. God’s best is waiting for everyone (John 10:10, James 1:5) and we exist to see everyone in our city living God’s best for their lives and empowering others to do the same (Jonah 3&4, Matthew 5:6, Ephesians 4:11-13)
